As part of the Diocese of Portsmouth Net Zero Conference Towards an Eco Island is on Saturday 18th October from 10.00am to 2.00pm in Newport Minster. £5 per person (to include refreshments). With contributions from St Helen's Church (Eco Church Gold award winners), and St Mildred’s Church, Whippingham (Eco Church Silver award winners), and the diocesan net zero teams of Portsmouth and Guildford. The Isle of Wight Confirmation service is taking place on this afternoon (Sunday 19th) at 4.00pm in St Mary’s Church, Brading. Bishop Jonathan will preside and we have five candidates from the Haven benefice being confirmed (along with 16 from other churches) so do please pray for Sharron, Lynne, Alex, Sue and Mike and come along to the service to support all those being confirmed. There will also be refreshments in the hall afterwards.

The next Coffee morning at St Mary’s Church Hall is on Saturday 25th October from 10.00am, along with the Community Choir we will be raising money for the Island’s Daisy Bus, a vital link to mainland hospitals for those with appointments. All the usual stalls and refreshments to enjoy.

Wedding Open Day: We are showcasing just how great our churches and halls are for weddings with organists, choir, flowers, bells, information, venues and even a cake. Do spread the word to anyone you know who is considering getting married. And if you can help throughout the day (Saturday 1st November 10.00am - 3.00pm) please let Revd Karen know.

The 8.00am BCP Service at St John’s, Yaverland on Sunday 2nd November will celebrate All Souls Day and there is a book in the church for you to add the names of loved ones you would like remembered and read out.

There will also be an All Souls Service at St Peter’s Church on Sunday 2nd November at 4.00pm. If you would like the names of loved ones read out at this service, there will be clip boards at the back of St Helen’s Church, St Peter’s, Seaview and St Catherine’s chapel until 1st November, for names to be added. Alternatively names can be sent to Sue Whitewick at sthelepete(at)gmail(dot)com. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
